As the Senior Vice President of British Columbia & Yukon, Michael is the Regional Head responsible for leading and guiding the banks business in this region. He proudly leads the executive team accountable for 2000 colleagues that drive the personal and business banking businesses. As one of eight division heads in Canada, Michael is a key part of building and successful execution against the overall strategic direction of BMO’s P&C.
Mike has 25 years of banking experience with an emphasis on building and leading diverse businesses across Canada. His career has been supported through range and diversity, as he has been a key part of BMO’s Personal, Commercial, Specialized Sales and Corporate Finance businesses where he has consistently lead teams to success in Halifax, Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver.
The only thing equal to Mike’s passion for his team and his customers is his support for the communities in which he has lived. Mike has received numerous accolades and awards including being recognized by Kids Help Phone, the Aga Khan Foundation, Junior Achievement Business Builder award and the Mental Health Foundation’s Vision Award at their annual general meeting.
Mike is currently a member of the United Way Campaign Cabinet, is a frequent consultant on policy matters, a member of the Premiers Registered Disability Savings Plan Action Group, and the proud Chair of “Sharing Circle”; BMO’s Aboriginal Employee Resource Group.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers and holds a Masters of Business Administration in Finance from Dalhousie University in Halifax.
