Plenary Session: “Collaborating on the Future We Want!”

We all want a better future. But there is still a chasm between how the world is and how we want it to be – between how we want to be and how we, in our day-to-day ‘business as usual’, actually are.

There was exciting movement toward closing that chasm in 2015. Internationally, the world’s governments came together under the UN umbrella to adopt the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the landmark Paris climate agreement. In Canada, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission released its final report and recommendations, and the Canadian Government declared its intention to implement the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. Moving into 2016, we see growing commitments from governments and the private sector alike to enfranchise all people both socially and economically to build the future we want.

How do we as individuals and businesses harness and advance these high-level, multi stakeholder commitments to sustainable, inclusive growth, stability and prosperity?

Women increasingly play a powerful role in driving global changes. We believe that collaboration will drive unprecedented positive change. Our conference vision is to provide a unique platform to connect you to powerful new solutions and opportunities.

Our keynote panelists are prominent leaders who will share their views reflecting on the four major conference themes: Leadership, Global Competitiveness, Business Growth and Megatrends:

Bridging the Gap

Executive Training to Engage Millennials

Moderator: Angelica Mirza, MIRZA Global Search
Speaker: Kelly Lovell, Youth Mobilizer & CEO of Lovell Corporation

Engaging youth is no longer optional. In less than 2 years they will have the most spending power of any generation and are set to make up 75% of the global workforce by 2025. The key to effectively engaging the youth market is simple: bring one of them into your boardroom.

WHY CARE?

  • The recession made youth skeptical of you.
  • Only 1% of them say that a compelling ad would make them trust a brand more.
  • 91% of them expect to stay in a job for less than three years.

INSIGHT FROM THE SOURCE

  • Born of the cusp of the Millennial and Generation Z shift, Kelly Lovell resonates with both demographics.
  • With 98% of millennials valuing the opinion of their peer over a company, Kelly’s peer perspective is crucial.

ACCLAIMED YOUTH MOBILIZER

  • Kelly holds 14 awards for her expertise in bridging the gap to youth markets.
  • Honoured by Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II in 2016 for international recognition.

Revolutionary Ways to Wholeness & Life Changing Leadership

Speaker: Kindi Dulai-Gill, CEO of Spark Expansion Ltd.

Moderator: TBA

In history we continuously invent or create something that accommodates our changing needs. Right now a new form of leadership is needed to displace old paradigms- which are leading to unfulfilled leaders and executives. This new leadership based out of matriarchal origins, heart centered principles of unity, compassion, integrity, and honesty wants to come to the forefront and break through established barriers and glass ceilings.

The real wholeness and peace we seek both internally and externally can only be achieved, if patriarchal ideas are balanced with feminine energy in a proactive way. Heightened social and emotional intelligence has to be encouraged in each of us, embodied through greater self-awareness and mindfulness. The only form of leadership that will bring true solutions to challenges that we face in modern times involves us taking responsibility to dissolve judgments, and criticism/divisions in a practical way, so that unconscious behavior patterns that tend to separate can finally take a back seat. Being positive to displace negativity of overstress, overwork and exhaustion is not enough. We need to understand why and how negativity has been formed for it to truly fall away and be transformed.

Kindi will guide you through a 20 minute simple and revolutionary process, so that you walk away, with an experiential change for your own greater good, as you begin to embody real and lasting transformation for peace and fulfillment.

"Raising the Bar on What We Buy and Eat to Aid the Planet and Ourselves"

Sponsored by Save-On-Foods (Extra Tickets Available)

Sponsored and Hosted by SAVE-ON-FOODS

Open to the business community. Click HERE to purchase an additional ticket.

We are what we eat, right?  So we rely heavily on those who produce, distribute and retail our food to do their utmost to ensure we can buy the best at whatever price-point. Not every company is up to that challenge, but some even surpass our expectations and become beacons of what is possible, even essential going forward.  Innovation in the agri-food business is a growing concern. Food packaging, food waste, and food nutrition at the retail market level is an area where agrifood entrepreneurs are seeking new eco-solutions from zero-waste apps, to flash-freezing healthy foods, to new biodegradable products and unique processes, the food chain is changing to provide both financial and environmental solutions.

The Agrifood section of EXCELerate2017 examines how suppliers, wholesalers, retailers and sector entrepreneurs are leading the way in producing superior quality produce as well as systemic improvements in marketing and distribution, all designed to be both more friendly to the environment and more beneficial to consumers. A billion dollar growing industry for innovative entrepreneurs wanting to make a difference.

Feminine Capital & Feminine Leadership

Moderator: Jane Schnurr, President of Awesome Coaching Enterprises, and Chair of GroYourBiz Barrie, ON

Speaker: Dr. Kouthar DarmoniFounder & Director, Feminine Capital and Goddess Belly Dance, Assistant Professor in Gender & Media at the University of Amsterdam

  • Why do we value masculine qualities and neglect feminine ones?
  • Why do we want to masculinize women?
  • Why do we associate masculine with strong and feminine with weak?
  • Why do we prize the power of the brain and mock the power of the guts?

Kaouthar Darmoni believes that balance between feminine and masculine values, in each individual, is the key to innovation and prosperity. She trusts that the balance between male and female qualities is a ‘Golden Proportion’ (Fibonacci) that will take us in a completely New Leadership which embraces another ‘Golden Proportion’: the balance between brain, heart and belly.

Kaouthar’s passion is releasing the incredible potential of women, their ‘Feminine Capital’, not only via the ratio but especially via the body, the womb.

In this lecture, Kaouthar combines her academic knowledge from the field of Gender, with her experience in the corporate world and her coaching skills with bodywork & Goddesses Dance. This unique combination of knowledge, skills, and experience allows her to introduce new perspectives and open up our thinking and acting in the area of Leadership.

Through this playful and at times provocative intervention, dr. Darmoni argues for the necessity of both another type of knowing, leaving space for playfulness and more feminine attributes, qualities that are not always valued in corporate culture.

Kaouthar is a Feminine Capital polisher who loves teaching women to glow their feminine gold with the Goddesses Dance; to trade it for the highest good in education, relationships, economy, workforce, society and environment.

Business Exit Strategy

A Roadmap to Successful Transition (Sponsored by BDC)

Extra Tickets Avalaible

One of the most demographic trends in the next decade will be the aging population.  This will impact the SME sector, as well as economic growth and standards of living.  Well thought out strategic goals for succession planning are key to your success. Most problems with business transition are that succession planning does not take place soon enough and happens too late or at crisis points. Working on an integrated approach with advisors from legal, bankers, financial advisors and accountants to help formulate strategic goals will help increase business exit value, as well as evaluate how much money or income you will need for your future.

“Inspiring Growth: Women Entrepreneurs Manufacturing Hope Across The Globe”

Women are the world’s greatest untapped natural resource, with the power and potential to grow the global economy. Touching on the Dressmaker of Khair Khana in Afghanistan and Liberian women pushing their country and their companies forward, we see that real differences can be made if we seed their potential. We can go from seeing women as victims of tough economies to architects of growth. Because suffocated opportunity is the enemy of prosperity and stability — and the world has no talent to spare.

BMO is proud to host “Celebrating Women Entrepreneurs” evening to acknowledge the achievements of women entrepreneurs in 3 categories: 1) Global Growth & Innovation; 2) Charitable and Community Giving; and 3) Expansion and Small Business Growth.

Reception begins at 6:00 pm followed by a 3-course dinner.
